BS in Economics
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in economics is a more technical and quantitative degree than the B.A. in economics. Both degrees give students a solid background in economic theory, but the B.S. degree is more suitable for those students wishing to prepare for graduate study in economics or related disciplines, as well as better preparing students for employment in the rapidly growing technical sector of the U.S. economy. As such, the B.S. degree requires additional coursework in mathematics and statistics, as well as requiring the completion of more quantitative classes offered by the Department of Economics.
